This is the pediment of an over life-sized solid bronze statue of William Oxley Thompson, the first president of Ohio State, in a long heavy persuasive robe. To the right on the pediment is an engraving reading "William Oxley Thompson", to the left another engraving reading, "President of this University, 1899-1920."
